For parents, grandparents, other relatives and carers (by invitation).
Is your child having cochlear implants soon? Or has s/he had implants for only a short time?
Would you like to meet some other parents?
This informal morning will provide you with information about how children hear and learn to listen with cochlear implants.
We will also talk about how children learn to understand and and use spoken language.
An Audiologist, Speech and Language Therapist and Teacher of the Deaf will be on hand to answer these and any other questions you may have:

  • What happens at programming appointments?
  • What should we expect after ‘switch-on’?
  • How can we help our child to listen and to talk?

A good course with a good mix of parents at different stages.’
