Let’s Get Going

Wednesday 26th February & Wednesday 26th  March 9.30 – 15.30

An informal and practical course for parents / carers of children with cochlear implants or those in the assessment process for cochlear implants.

Based on the Hanen Program, this course will provide parents with an opportunity to learn and practise different strategies to move their child to the next stage of language development. This is achieved through presentations by the Speech and Language Therapists (SLTs), whole group discussions, video examples and personal video feedback. By the end of the course parents will have an understanding of their child’s language stage, communication style and specific language needs. Other topics covered will include routines, sharing books and play.

The presenting SLTs are qualified Hanen Practitioners.

The above course can be offered in conjunction with the local SLT/Teacher of the Deaf service on request.

“Great course. Learnt a lot more on how to interact with my child to get the best out of his cochlear implants.”
