For Teachers of the Deaf, Speech and Language Therapists and other professionals working with children with cochlear implants.

Cytomegalovirus (CMV) is responsible for approximately 25% of cases of hearing loss in children.  Would you like to know more about CMV and its impact on children’s learning and development?

Children with a diagnosis of CMV may also have sensory integration difficulties.  This course will help you to understand the issues around sensory integration as well as the implications of these difficulties for the child.

The course aims to provide information and ideas for working with children who have hearing loss due to CMV and/or sensory integration issues.  There will be opportunities for discussion and consideration of practical ideas throughout the day.  The YAIS team will also provide information about the current caseload of children with a diagnosis of CMV.

Speakers to be announced.
